DESCRIPTION:The Oakbridge Neighborhood Association Annual Meeting will be February 28\, 2019\, from 6:30-8:45 pm at the Alicia Ashman Library Community Room. \nThe Oakbridge Neighborhood Association Annual Meeting will beFebruary 28\, 2019\, from 6:30-8:45 pm at the Alicia Ashman Library Community Room\, 733 N. High Pt. Rd.\, Madison. We will have Alderman Skidmore\, West Side police officers and Deputy Mayor\, Gloria Reyes\, speak.• 6:30 — Introductions and meeting mechanics\n• 6:35 — Presentation from Ald. Paul Skidmore\, Capt. Timothy Patton\, Nick Cleary\, and Deputy Mayor Gloria Reyes\n• 7:45 — Election of 4 board members\n• 8:10 — Review of budget\n• 8:25 — Discussion of other items\n• 8:45 — Adjournment\n• 9:15 — O’Grady’s Pub for vote count and social after-hours \n \nNote that we have 4 board seats up for election this year. If you would like to run\, you can announce your candidacy at the meeting. All candidates will have to provide their name\, address and explain their qualifications (in one minute or less). We will then vote by secret ballot (1 ballot per HOUSEHOLD). Please bring a pen with you to the meeting to fill out the ballots. Votes will be counted after the meeting at O’Grady’s Pub on Mineral Point Road. Anyone is welcome to attend and watch the vote count. Note that if you want to be on the Board but are not “voted” on\, what this means is as follows — you can still attend all the Board meetings and provide input on all decisions; you just would not get to vote. \nAdditional notes: You MUST be a resident of the Oakbridge Neighborhood to attend this meeting and to vote for Board members. We will have two individuals at the entrance to the meeting confirming attendees are Oakbridge residents and who will hand you a ballot when you arrive. SUMMARY:Fourth of July Neighborhood Parady/Party 2018
DESCRIPTION:Meet on July 4 at 10:45a.m. by the Oakbridge sign! \n \nParade\nYour children and grandchildren can show off their decorated bikes and wagons while dressed in their Independence Day colors as they are escorted by a Madison Fire Department Fire Engine for the neighborhood parade around Oakbrook. Bring your patriotic pups too! Participants are asked to gather at 10:45a.m. by the Oakbridge sign for the parade that begins at 11a.m. \nPicnic\nFollowing the parade\, join in the picnic\, sponsored and hosted by the Neighborhood Association\, that includes hot dogs\, chips\, lemonade\, and freeze pops. Additional snacks and dishes to share are always appreciated! Have a favorite game? Bring it! Bean bag toss and ladder ball toss games will also be set up. \nBook Drive\n\nOur new neighbors are moving into the Heartland Housing building on Tree Lane this week! These families have children of all ages. Let’s help kids feel like kids while they adjust to their new homes by donating gently used children’s books. We will have a box for book donations at the picnic and will deliver the books to Heartland Housing later in the week. Your kindness may kindle a lifelong love for learning and reading for children in need!
