All homeowners in Oakbridge are automatically members of the Oakbridge Community Services Association (OCSA), and those homes and lots are subject to both the Oakbridge Declaration of Covenants and Restrictions (DCR) and the Supplementary Declaration of Covenants and Restrictions (SDCR). These documents were put in place by the developer in 1979, when this whole area was just a big open field, and have remained in force, unchanged, for the last 44 years.
An OCSA committee has been working diligently at a proposal to update them, and its recommendation (“Action 44”), along with an explanation of it and a “rendered” version of what the DCR would look like if the changes were adopted, plus the current wording of the DCR and SDCR, may be viewed on line at https://oakbridge.community/documents/
The OCSA Board of Directors wishes to obtain feedback on that proposal from the membership and has scheduled two meetings for public commentary and suggestions. They will be held remotely, via Zoom, at 7:00 PM on Tue. June 6 and at 1:00 PM on Sat. June 10. To obtain a link to either meeting, e-mail secretary@oakbridge.community. You may also send comments on the proposal to that address.
Based on those comments, the Board will finalize the wording on the proposed amendments and submit them to the members (you, the property owners) for ratification. That requires the assent of at least 75% of our 145 households, or 109 homeowners, and will be conducted via a petition drive. More information about that will be forthcoming after the public hearings, but our hope is that we can collect many of them at the annual 4th of July neighborhood picnic.
Please take advantage of this opportunity to be a fully informed and active participant in the affairs of the community in which you live.
