According to cityofmadison.com/visit-play/halloween-activities, The City of Madison does not have official trick-or-treating hours. Recommended hours are 4 to 8 PM on Thu. Oct. 31.
The Oakbridge Community Services Association recommends the same.
The city’s website also recommends these safety tips:
• Make sure your costume is visible to vehicles and others.
• Do not use toy weapons as part of any costume.
• Stay on sidewalks, and obey traffic signs.
• Carry a flashlight.
• Don’t eat any candy until an adult can check it for you.
• Make sure costumes do not impede movement or vision.
And it also has information about downtown family Halloween Wed. Oct. 25 from 3 to 6 PM and hayrides around Capitol Square.
