2020 Election Information

There are 3 seats on the OCSA Board of Directors to be filled by election at the 2020 annual meeting on Wed. Jan. 8. So far these Oakbridge residents have announced their candidacies for those seats:

Mark K. Allen
I have lived at 7850 W. Oakbrook Circle and have been a member of the Oakbridge Community since 1985. I am a retired State of Wisconsin employee. During my years with the State of Wisconsin I worked as a chemist first at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and then for over 30 years at the Department of Natural Resources. I have experience working on committees both through my work and experiences outside of work.

Abigail Darwin
I am the current Oakbridge Community Services Association Board president, and I have been on the Board since 2016. I am also an attorney and licensed realtor, which helps me to provide legal and practical guidance to the Board on a wide array of matters. I would like to continue serving on the Board, since I already have experience doing it and enjoy it. I have also built up relationships with city leaders, including Alder Paul Skidmore, Deputy Mayor Linda Vakunta, and West Side Police Captain Tim Patton, which is helpful for our neighborhood.

Brent Denton
At my current job I manage technical details and coordinate personnel for many department-level projects. I have also led coordination of an academic conference (~25 presenters, ~150 attendees) and served as president of the UW Chemical Engineering student organization.

Laura Schweitzer
I have both lived in the Oakbridge Community and been a Board member since 2016. I am a CPA and work at an accounting firm, so I have been providing the tax filings for the neighborhood free of charge. I am willing to continue to provide tax advice and free tax prep services along with any financial consulting the neighborhood may need. Before moving to the Oakbridge neighborhood, I was the treasurer of a condo association of 90 units for two years. I have enjoyed being a Board member and hope to continue to help out the neighborhood in that capacity.

Anyone interested in running for the OCSA Board may file a statement of candidacy in advance of the annual meeting on Wed. Jan. 8 by sending the following form to Richard S. Russell at 7846 W. Oakbrook Cir., Madison  WI  53717 or its electronic equivalent to RichardSRussell@tds.net. It’s not necessary to do so, however. You may announce your candidacy verbally at the annual meeting itself.
