Pumpkin Contest
If you’d like to participate in our pumpkin-carving or -decorating contest, place your pumpkin where it’s easy to see and next to it have a sign with your address. If you’d like to enter more than one artistic effort, make sure each of them has an identifying letter as well as your address. People walking by would keep notes and, by the end of Tuesday Nov. 2, e-mail their top-3 votes to OCSA Secretary RichardSRussell@tds.net with the subject line “OCSA Pumpkin Vote” . Voting is not limited to one per household; each person can vote independently (but only once 😉)! The body of the message should be just 3 lines, like this:1 – 123 Oak St. B2 – 456 Oak Ave.3 – 123 Oak St. A

This Sunday, the 4th of July, we celebrate America’s 245th Independence Day! This year the OCSA board has once again decided to cancel the normal picnic/potluck portion of our celebration due to COVID-19 concerns, but we WILL have a parade! Yay!
It’ll be led by a fire truck driving through the neighborhood starting at 11 AM at the neighborhood sign and proceeding slowly (at walking speed) counter-clockwise TWICE around Oakbrook Circle. As it passes by your place the first time, fall in behind it with your kids and their decorated bicycles, wagons, scooters, pets, etc.
And just so you adults don’t feel left out, when you pass by the first of our two flag stations, pick one up to wave as you walk; drop it off again when you get to the second flag station.
The Oakbridge board has decided to choose 7/31/2021 and 8/1/2021 as the dates for this year’s garage sale dates. After much discussion, we felt that it was necessary to delay it by 2 1/2 months from the normal Mid May time-frame so more people can get vaccinations. We also wanted to give enough notice so it can be as successful as possible. If these dates do not work for you, you can certainly do it when it’s convenient.
A single developer was responsible for Oakbridge Community (single-family homes, where we are), Oakbridge Condos, and Oakbridge Apartments. And sitting smack at the vertex of these 3 developments is a community pool, which anyone in the 3 Oakbridges can become a member of. Here’s this season’s sign-up info:
