Updated Architectural Control Rules

The Board of Directors of the Oakbridge Community Services Association recently completed a nearly two-year project to overhaul the Architectural Control Rules that apply to all 145 homes in Oakbridge. They’ve been whittled down to only 6 pages, and many confusing, redundant, and obsolete items were eliminated.

Since everybody in Oakbridge is required to abide by these rules, you should probably take advantage of this opportunity to re-familiarize yourself with them. They’re available on the “Documents” page of the Oakbridge website:

Join the Oakbridge Architectural Review Board!

We have an opening on the Oakbridge Architectural Review Board and YOU should join!

The Architectural Control Rules are administered by a 5-member Architectural Review Board, which has an opening coming up. It’s not a particularly onerous responsibility, basically involving looking at about a dozen or so proposals a year from Oakbridge residents who want to do something with their property and checking to be sure their intentions comply with the rules, but it does require someone who cares about maintaining our area as a wonderful place to live.

If you’re interested in serving on the ARB, please notify President Abigail Darwin, AKDarwin@gmail.com, 608-334-4971 before our next Board meeting on Nov. 18, 2020 at 7 pm. It’s expected that the position will be filled at the next Board meeting on Wed. Nov. 18.

Voting information

How To Vote Absentee.

Madison’s wonderful city clerk, Maribeth Witzel-Behl, and her supremely dedicated and competent staff have made it really, really easy to find out how, where, and when to vote in Madison. In particular, if you want to vote by absentee ballot (minimizing your exposure to the rest of the world), you can find out how at https://www.cityofmadison.com/clerk/elections-voting/voting/vote-absentee
That same website lists in-person absentee-voting locations and drop-off sites.
Are you registered to vote? Have you asked for an absentee ballot? Has it been sent to you? If you sent it back, has it been received? All this info available at the super helpful and easy-to-use website myvote.wi.gov – just enter your name and birthday and all will be made plain to you.
Now more than ever it’s important to get a jump on the process, because there will likely be unforeseen delays as we get closer to Tue. Nov. 3. Don’t let your vote go uncounted! Vote as soon as possible!
